Saturday 30th July 8pm
We have always celebrated Pride here as a political vehicle to support change. And now we have the absolute privilege of hosting those close to the heart of film here on our stage!
We'll be hearing from Mike Jackson (Secretary of the real Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners) - who was played by Joe Gilgun in "Pride" - about the role of the film. You'll be able to ask him questions.
You'll also be able to meet Kat Fry our local Grove Green LGBTQIA+ officer.
Then the floor is all yours. Talk about something going wrong. Talk about something likely going right. Read us a poem. Sing us a song. It's up to you
Enjoy our Queer Beer Festival whilst you're here
Pride is here to honour our history and success of gay rights and to remind us that we still need to fight homophobia and support our LGBTQIA+ friends and neighbours in any challenges they face
Entry is free but we'll be collecting to support two deserving causes:
the Outside Project - an LGBTQ homelessness project - https://lgbtiqoutside.org/
ELOP - a lesbian and gay mental health charity based in East London - see: http://www.elop.org/
Thank you to Ray, Mike, Kat & especially Tom who has spent so much time organising this
